Mr. Zahi Khoury Tours TYO Center

On Thursday, June 23, 2011, Zahi Khoury and his wife, Amal visited the TYO Center. Mr. Khoury, Founder and CEO of the National Beverage Company and Chairman of Partners for a New Beginning Palestine, toured the Center and visited our weekly Thursday Sports Day.

Over a working lunch catered by Nehaya, a Fostering Women’s Entrepreneurs (FWEN) participant, Mr. Khoury discussed TYO’s programming and activities with several program managers. Several FWEN program participants presented their business plans and first steps to Mr. Khoury and received personalized feedback.

TYO is a proud member of Partners for a New Beginning. We were ecstatic to host Mr. Khoury and his wife and look forward to future shared efforts in Palestine.

Photo of the Day: Resting Pre-Marathon

This afternoon, TYO held a mini-marathon with obstacles and, of course, prizes for the children! Here is a picture of some children resting before the run.

Photo of the Day: Summer Soccer Begins

The Midnight Football League kicked off its summer season on Sunday, May 29, 2011 with the addition of two new evenings: Sunday and Tuesday. On Sunday, boy and girls seven to ten years old began their first soccer clinic with Colin and the volunteers and on Tuesday boys ten to fourteen will take the field to show us what they got. It won’t be long before these young lads are ready to challenge the older boys (14-16) on Monday nights!

We look forward to a fun, safe and exciting season for all!

New Photo of the Week on the Triple Exposure website!

Check out this week’s photo of the week by Triple Exposure photography student Doha, as described by TYO intern Mathilda:

Twelve year old Doha is from Khallet-al Amood, Nablus. Like many of the Triple Exposure kids, she loves to photograph her siblings. She took this photo of her one year old brother, Omar, on the terrace when he was crying out for their mother.

A sneak peak!

New Photo Story on the Triple Exposure website!

Check out this week’s photo story by Triple Exposure photography student Mohammed, as described by TYO intern Mathilda:

Mohammad has a brilliant sense of humour and brings a lot of laughter to class. This shines through in his photos too. Rather than just photographing what he sees around him, he created his own subject out of a piece of cactus, and went on to arrange it in different locations so that he could experiment with perspective and light to produce these distinct and memorable images.
